Do you have another way to pay? Because I don't have a PayPal account,

like Pix...?

The game is free with optional donations, don't feel a need to pay

Just curious will there be a multiplayer feature,  even if there isn't it's a great game.

I don't think I'll ever be able to put in multiplayer, unfortunately.

The capitals of germany and finland (sweden a little bit too) are misaligned, also the discord invite link is expired.

There's nothing I can really do about that unfortunately, because of the way regions are set up.

Here's the discord link:  https://discord.gg/sTSfJWVpdH

Played the game a little bit and I can definitely say that it's amazing! You have put a lot of work into this and I cannot congratulate you enough. Just, applause.

Thank you so much!

can you make this available for mac

how do i only take some provinces and not the whole country

That's not a feature quite yet unfortunately, working on it though.

Do you intends makes s mobile version?

no

The game is very cool, what's very bad is that the logo can crash and loses its progress which forces you to save it almost always, but it doesn't bother you too much. It would be nice if I had more options for interacting with other nations (warning that I used Google Translate to write this comment, sorry for any mistake in writing)

Thanks for your comment. The game did release in a very unstable build and I'm actively working on fixing crashes with feedback from the community.

The disappearing menus, allied nations not doing anything and blatantly cheating AI spawning in divisions really make war frustrating, especially when your units just refuse to move or attack as instructed. While it looks promising as a remake it could really use some work.

Could you elaborate more on your criticisms?

The AI nations seem to be able to ignore manpower constraints and also just get divisions when you declare war on them and the economy has no effect on the game beyond canals and ports. The combat overall is very unintuitive and seems to break reguarly when you fight for more then a few days, with units still having the movement lines but not progressing or damaging eachother. All of these combined make combat incredibly annoying to figure out for me.

The AI nations do not ignore manpower constraints, they just deploy more divisions when you declare war on them, as you can as well. Economy does matter, it's required to resupply divisions. Divisions will wait to go into a battle unless they are fully supplied, otherwise nothing will happen (as per why the units have movement lines but don't damage each other). You can refer to the tutorial for more details.

I do agree with you however that this is not communicated well outside of the tutorial, so I will work on improving that.

is there a way to mute the music?

oh nvm

idk why but my game isnt working. The timw in the game never changes from the start of the game and theres no time progression.

The game starts paused, is it possible that you haven't changed the timelapse speed? Press either +/- on the keyboard or on the top right of your screen.

Will there be more than generic focus trees?

Can you add a way to see all the territory currently owned by a country?

Open the industry map.

you did not need to make a entire anime intro just for this lol

Tips on winning in the Russian Civil War as Bolsheviks?

I haven't tried, however, russia does have the most overpowered defensive terrain on the map, so that may help when whittling down white russia.

Also, civil wars only start if your ideology does not match the nation you are trying to become, so you can skip it by changing your country to being communist first.

How did you make the province system? I am big into the hoi4 community on scratch and want to know how it works so I have the ability to potentially recreate it.

Each region has a culture associated with it. When you annex a region, it checks the culture of that region and adds it to a dictionary which every country has with the key being the culture, and the item being a list of all the regions the country owns with that culture. From that, you can get the region ids of each region in a province by just getting the item associated with a certain key within the country class.

Interesting, also, how do you get the computer to recodnize that the regions are separate? on scratch we have to copy every region into a clone. How did you do it here?

The regions are all represented by one large dictionary where the first element is a unique color associated with that on the region map, the second is it's location on the map, and the third is a list of every region which that region connects to. It works to be a very rudimentary way of implementing a graph data structure.

Is scratch properly OOP? Or is it mostly procedural.

it is not OOP

Is there any way to re-gain stability?

Decisions in the political tree and side bar.

What if I'm a minor nation like Luxembourg which doesn't have any decisions?

(+1)(-1)

Every country gets some generic decisions and a generic political decision tree.

Okay, but I can only gain up to 30 stability from reform 1 2 and 3, and I think that's too little for the long run.

You can gain more through an option that appears on the side bar when you go below 60.

Great

fix game

(1 edit) (+2)

I released a day one patch yesterday, so this may already be fixed if playing version 1.1. If not, could you let me know what you were doing when this happened?

Hold it. Do I need to re-install sosandwin every time you update it?

(+1)

Yeah, there's no real way to have it auto update unless it's in a game store afaik.

Can you at least somehow announce the updates?

Right now I'm  just doing that on the discord server, but I'll definitely start doing it on itch too.

(+3)(-1)

I am very excited about this game, thank you.
